About Hylan Auto Repairs

Located at 2409 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, Hylan Auto Repairs operates as an auto repair shop serving Staten Island in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Staten Island, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across New York vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (718) 980-3153. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is hylan-auto-repairs.edan.io, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 162 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Staten Island.

Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Staten Island peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I did my inspection one day before the 250th anniversary. I finished my lunch in a nearby Chinese buffet. Amid the heat wave, I would like to try my luck. I googled the map, and found this one with good reviews. I called, and was told that I could come, but it would close at 4. It did not take that long to get the job done. In fact, I wished it could have taken longer, since I was watching the soccer match between Australia and Egypt in the comfortable waiting area. Believe it or not, this was my first time watching. Overall, I like my experience. Steve sounds, looks, and is trustworthy. I will recommend this place to anybody.

This place is excellent! Honest, punctual, and great pricing. I worked with Steve. I'm from CT and sought a mechanic to do a prepurchase inspection on a Mazda vehicle I was looking to purchase from a used car dealer (Ideal Auto) that is near Hylan Auto Repairs. I had to seek out a private mechanic, after the local Mazda dealer would not agree to do a prepurchase inspection of a Mazda. Not only did Steve agree to complete the PPI, but he offered to go to the nearby dealership to perform the PPI after the dealership would not allow me to bring the vehicle to Hylan Auto to have the PPI completed. Steve arranged for the PPI to be completed at Ideal Auto. The service was done promptly and thoroughly. A detailed report was provided, including many pictures. Thanks to the wonderful team at Hylan Auto Repairs. They saved me lots of time, headache, and money. Such great service is hard to find. You are in good hands with Hylan Auto. Highly recommended.

Steve and Elson had come highly recommended from several people because of their honesty and not over the top prices. I have a much older car that they have always managed to fix with parts impossible to replace. They are always very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with anytime my car needs to serviced.

I called this place 2 weeks ago because i had to get an inspection done during my break, I work at the hospital. First of all the customer service is phenomenal from the second Steve answered the phone, to when I got there & my inspection was done I felt taken care of. Unfortunately I needed more than an inspection but everything worked out. I am a person that loves to read reviews before I go somewhere so I’m leaving a review for the next person.Your car will be in great hands! 10/10.
